I love the Bible. And I find the Bible difficult. To put the biblical narratives into practice is, in part, an exercise in grappling with the parts of the Bible that challenge our understanding of the world.
Sometimes, I am astounded by a glorious picture of the work of God who has been, and promises to still be, at work in the world.
Sometimes, I am astounded by thoughts or instructions I see in scripture that I think would be deadly for us to embrace.
Jesus Have I Loved, but Paul? attempts to wrestle through both dynamics, honoring all of scripture by having my own imagination, and reading, transformed by the story of the crucified and risen Messiah.
